Unveiling the Forgotten Gem of 1985: Nikki’s ’He’s So Different’

The year was 1985, the autumn to be exact and in the Tipparade, a dutch music chart an inconspicuous song appears and reaches the top on 8th place. The song is called "He's So Different" by an artist called Nikki. Written and produced by the duo E. Van Tijn and J. Fluitsma, who had before had success with the girl-group Mai Tai, it would've been no surprise their new work was met with success. The style was unique to Nikki. It had a familiar sound of the funky american disco with an accent of Europe. Unfortunately today, no one really seems to remember who she was or this song itself. Nikki ever released only two records in 1985 and 1986. As of today, the reason why no more music came from her is unknown.
